Solar street light with automatic motion sensor

Solar street light with automatic motion sensor

Highway solar street lights project in Saudi Arabia, completed in 2022. 500units of 100W & 120W CF Series all-in-one solar street lights are applied in this project. Excellent patentin integrated design makes it very easy to install and maintain. Intelligence MPPT controller realizes intelligent street lighting control. Motion sensor makes the lamps save electricity more effectively. The solar street light with automatic motion sensor could work continuously for 5-7 autonomy days under smart mode.

There are three working modes of solar street lights as follows.

1. Solar street light with a Time Control

The MPPT controller also initiates the dimming action and light intensity of the solar street light. For example, at certain times of the day, the LED light can project varying amounts of illumination as illustrated below.

From 6 pm to 7 pm – 70% brightness
From 8 pm to 10 pm – 100% brightness
From 11 pm to 5 pm – 30% brightness
When the sensor detects people, it will automatically turn to 100% brightness even at any time of the night. Thus, energy usage is conserved.

2. Solar street light with Motion sensor

Motion sensors can either be microwave or infrared. An infrared motion sensor detects heat from objects or people while microwave sensors let bounced signals enter the sensor.

The motion sensor is capable of detecting people up to a certain distance before opening the LED light. This can be a 5m to 6 m of distance.

Solar street lights with automatic motion sensors light outdoors turn 100% brightness mode in 2 seconds when motion is detected; it reverts back to 30% energy saving mode again if people are out.

3. Solar street light with PIR sensor

Infrared induction uses the principle of pyroelectric exploration, which triggers streetlights by sensing the temperature changes in the environment. Once the human body or other objects emitting infrared energy enter the range, it will react. The sensing distance is only 3-5m. When someone passes by, the infrared sensor is triggered, and the light automatically turns on the strong light mode, and the strong light generally lasts for 30 seconds. When a person leaves the sensing range, the light automatically switches to the dim mode, waits for the next time someone approaches, and then adjusts the bright mode.

With the advantages of smart solar LED street lamps, we could not only save a lot of energy but also not need to worry about electricity failure anymore.
